kareem

Kareem has been working at Louis & Sons since 2021. He is a taper/finisher and does drywall touch up. Kareem’s father, Ophy Flemming, worked at the company when it was still Louis & John Drywall before Mike and Bob took over in 2001. Outside of work, Kareem likes to spend time with family and watch sports. He is a father to three sons: Ameer (47), Aquil (35), and Shkir (36) and one daughter, Walikah (44) and is married to his beautiful wife, Amera. His family keeps him focused on what’s important and through God, he can accomplish anything. We appreciate Kareem’s years of experience and manner in which he completes all his jobs.

On November 7th, officials at the New Jersey Alliance for Action 41st Annual Construction Forecast stated that an estimated $58.4 billion in capital investment will circulate into NJ in the next two years. This amount will be split into $29.6 billion for 2026 and $28.8 for 2027 and will include investments for infrastructure, transportation, utilities, education, healthcare, environmental protection, and more. Hospitals and healthcare facilities will invest $6.2 billion from 2026 to 2027. NJ Transit projects to spend $5 billion within the next two years with  a major emphasis on station improvements.

Caroline’s Corner – Words of Wisdom

Anyone who has met or talked to our Office Manager will know that she is the most positive, optimistic and wonderful person you will ever meet. She often has quotes and stories that get us through our tension-filled days. Here’s a story that she would like to share about her Thanksgiving traditions.

Growing up, Thanksgiving didn’t just mean turkey: it meant the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. My brother, sister, and I would be glued to the TV, waiting for Santa to officially kick off the season. While our dining room table was always surrounded by love and thankful hearts, the real drama was reserved for the wishbone. With three siblings and only two sides to the bone, the first battle was just seeing who was lucky enough to make the cut! That high-stakes pull for the “bigger half” remains one of my favorite memories. However you spend your holiday, I’m wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with love, health, and your own magical moments.

Jokes

I’m going to the store to get honey, salmon, and a picnic basket. Just getting the bear necessities.

I went to a bookstore recently. Someone was throwing Stephen King books at everyone. I wondered why they were doing that. Then IT hit me.

I went to a bakery and said “I’d like to buy a muffin with chocolate chips. The baker said, “Sorry, we only take cash.”

Quotes

“You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated.”

— Maya Angelou, American memoirist and essayist

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

― Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
